1. GENERAL TIPS FOR INDOOR HUMIDITY

Avoid high levels of indoor humidity in the apartment by airing out for 5 minutes in the morning and evening. All windows should be opened at the same time to ensure a draft.
If your apartment has ventilation vents, either in the wall or in the windows, make sure they are open most of the time. This ensures low humidity levels.
Contact the janitor or building inspector immediately if mildew or mold forms. This could be a result of a high humidity level in house or apartment building.
If you smoke, it is especially important to air out several times a day for healthy humidity levels.
Remember, it is cheaper to heat up dry air than humid air. High indoor humidity levels can directly affect the heating bill and there is money to be saved, just by airing out – also during the winter months.
